Amanda Philip, Operations Manager
Amanda Philip is currently the Operations Manager at the Arab American Association of NY. More than anything, her identity firmly rests in Jesus Christ and is inspired by “Learn to do what is good. Seek justice. Correct the oppressor. Defend the rights of the fatherless. Plead the widow's cause."
She pursued her Bachelor’s in Psychology at Florida International University and interned with Christ Fellowship Miami, a mega-church, and became a community organizer. Upon graduation, she went to India to work with under-resourced children and daughters of commercial sex workers. Upon returning, she served with AmeriCorp within the Community Building & Organizing department at Neighborhood Housing Services of New Haven in Connecticut. This experience launched her interest in city planning and she is currently pursuing her Masters in City & Regional Planning at Pratt Institute. In the midst of her Master's she decided to serve with the Arab American Association of NY as the Intern & Volunteer Coordinator through NYC Civic Corp and is now the Operations Manager.
