The Arab Women Activists and Leaders (AWAL) Intern will be a part of the Advocacy and Civic Engagement (ACE) team. The AWAL Intern will focus on assisting the Advocacy Instructor/Adult Ed Organizer in providing advocacy tools to immigrant Arab/or Muslim women. 

The AWAL Intern is expected to commit to at least 12 hours per week for 6 months

Primary Duties:

  • Working with the Advocacy Instructor/Adult Ed Organizer to facilitate AWAL classes 
  • Assistance with AWAL curriculum
  • Referral and communication with women enrolled in the program
  • Assist with social media management for events pertaining to AWAL
  • Assist in identifying and inviting guest speakers to AWAL classes 


  • Experience working with diverse and immigrant communities 
  • A strong and genuine desire to advocate for social justice
  • Strong knowledge of spoken Arabic, written Arabic is a plus
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Apps 
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skils 
  • Open to constructive feedback within the organization 
  • Female identified bodies preferred
