AAANY is proud to Support the #March2Justice

On April 13th, marchers from Justice League NYC and dozens of other organizations embarked on a 250+ mile walk from New York City to Washington, DC. We're so excited that our Executive Director, Linda Sarsour, is co-chair of the historic #March2Justice and we are proud to support and participate in the march.

They march to confront the systemic issues that confront our communities and to demand congressional intervention to address the national crisis of police violence and mass incarceration.  They march with the victims, their families and their communities in their hearts, and with a hope that our efforts may elevate their humanity above the divisive discourse that allows this state of crisis to persist.  They march with a deep understanding that we will only overcome these challenges together, arm in arm, marching side by side.

Once in DC, the marchers will demand  that Congress immediately moves to pass a Justice Package which consists of legislation to end racial profiling, demilitarize our police forces and invest in our communities.  Along the route, the marchers will stop in key cities and towns to uplift some of the local activism taking place and to show that the desire for justice is real, and that, while the last several months have been trying, their resolve is strong.
