Description: Youth programs coordinator

AAANY is seeking a dedicated Youth Programs Coordinator intern that will assist with the coordination and implementation of the organization’s youth programs and services; such as SAT Prep Program, Brooklynat, a young women’s empowerment group, and High School Community Service Projects. The Youth Programs Intern’s primary role is to coordinate, manage, and oversee the youth programs; in addition to providing mentorship and advising to youth. The coordinator will oversee the student enrollment process, monitor of student progress, and keep track of SAT test dates and college application deadlines.

This internship will provide an excellent opportunity to gain experience in nonprofit project management, youth advisement, and community activism and leadership. The Youth Programs Coordinator is expected to commit at least 9-12 hours a week of work with the Association; hours and days are somewhat flexible.


  • Assist Youth Lead Organizer with project management
  • Oversee and manage student enrollment for the various programs
  • Keep track of student attendance and progress
  • Conduct youth monthly advising sessions (group led and individually)
  • Assist with program development and outreach 


  • College student or graduate
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience and/or interest working with youth in an educational setting
  • Excellent verbal, written communications, and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter, able to operate independently and solve problems
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Knowledge of youth development strategies a plus
  • Prior mentoring and/or tutoring role a plus
  • Demonstrated interest in Arab culture, language and policies preferred
