AAANY’s Adult Education Program provides free English classes, online Citizenship Preparation classes, and practical digital skills training. These learning opportunities help immigrant and refugee adults strengthen their communication skills, prepare for the naturalization interview and citizenship test, build digital confidence, and navigate everyday life with greater independence.

AAANY offers accessible, high-quality learning opportunities in a supportive and welcoming environment. Our programs help adult learners strengthen their English, prepare for citizenship, build digital skills, and gain practical tools for everyday life.
Free ESL (English as a Second Language) Classes
Build reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills for everyday life, work, and civic participation. Multiple English levels and flexible learning options may be available depending on the enrollment cycle.
Community Learning Workshops
Participate in practical workshops that connect adult learners with community resources, civic information, leadership opportunities, and everyday skills.
Digital Skills and Technology
Learn practical computer skills, digital tools, and responsible uses of artificial intelligence for everyday life, education, and employment.
Citizenship and Civics Preparation
Strengthen your English and civics knowledge while preparing for the naturalization interview and citizenship test through our online Citizenship Preparation classes. Classes are offered online, and availability may vary throughout the year.

Adult learners are using their new language and digital skills to pursue education, advance professionally, communicate independently, and participate more confidently in everyday life.
From Classroom Confidence to Workplace Growth
Through active participation in the Intermediate Online Class, one student developed the confidence to pass a job interview and begin working. She was later promoted and demonstrated further growth by independently preparing and presenting a PowerPoint presentation to her class.
Confidence, Education, and a New Career Path
After strengthening her English through the Intermediate Online Class, one student was able to communicate directly with an emergency-room healthcare team without an interpreter. She later passed the TABE exam and began working toward a phlebotomy certificate, taking an important step toward a new healthcare career.
From Beginning English to Medical Interpreting
After arriving in the United States with limited English, one student joined AAANY’s English classes and steadily became more confident and independent. By strengthening her English alongside her Arabic, she was able to become a medical interpreter and support others in healthcare settings.

This Mother’s Day, AAANY celebrated the strength, love, and resilience of the incredible mothers in our community. The day was filled with joy, from festive decorations and thoughtful gifts to fun games that brought lots of laughter and connection. We created a warm space to honor the women who hold our families together — a small token of appreciation for everything our mothers do, today and every day.

This year’s Ramadan Bazaar at AAANY was a vibrant celebration of culture, community, and sisterhood. Local women business owners showcased their talents and sold everything from delicious homemade food to beautiful clothing, jewelry, and traditional household items. Families enjoyed fun games, meaningful connections, and a festive atmosphere that truly captured the spirit of Ramadan while uplifting the incredible women entrepreneurs in our community.
