The Arab American Association of New York is proud to announce that our Chief Executive Officer, Marwa A. Janini, has been appointed to New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s Nonprofit Advisory Council!
Under her leadership, the Arab American Association of New York has continued to expand its reach and strengthen its impact through programs and services that support immigrant and underserved communities, advance civic engagement, and promote equity, opportunity, and belonging across New York City.
With extensive experience in nonprofit leadership, public advocacy, and cross-sector collaboration, Janini has led efforts to advance immigrant justice, strengthen community safety, and combat hate and Islamophobia. Her leadership reflects a longstanding commitment to strengthening the nonprofit sector and ensuring community voices are part of the conversations shaping New York City.
As a member of the council, Janini will join 33 nonprofit leaders from across the city in providing guidance and perspective to the administration on the challenges facing the nonprofit sector and helping inform its priorities. The council will also provide an opportunity to strengthen collaboration between City Hall and the organizations working every day to support New Yorkers.
We are incredibly proud to see Janini’s years of leadership, dedication, and service recognized through this appointment. Congratulations, Marwa!
